Car Events in Belgium 2026

Belgium punches well above its weight when it comes to car culture. Between the hallowed tarmac of Spa-Francorchamps, a coastal concours scene that rivals anything in France, and motor shows that draw half a million visitors, this small country delivers a genuinely stacked calendar. Here are the nine events worth planning around in 2026.

Brussels Motor Show | 9-18 January

The Brussels Motor Show has been running since 1902, making it one of the oldest auto exhibitions in Europe, and the thing still pulls roughly 500,000 visitors every January. What keeps people coming back is the sheer density of manufacturers under one roof and a buying culture that makes this feel less like a press junket and more like an actual marketplace. If you want to see the year’s new models without fighting through Frankfurt or Geneva crowds, Brussels is a smart move. The timing works nicely too, right at the start of the year when the new metal is fresh and your enthusiasm hasn’t been worn down yet.

Belgium Auto Show | 22 March

Ghent hosts something altogether different from the polish of Brussels. The Belgium Auto Show spreads across 70,000 square meters of exhibition space and leans hard into the enthusiast side of things. Lowrider hydraulics competitions, live drift demonstrations, and enough modified metal to keep you occupied for an entire day. It has the energy of a massive car meet that happens to be indoors, which makes it a great early-season outing before the track events kick off.

WEC 6 Hours of Spa | 7-9 May

The World Endurance Championship’s visit to Spa has long served as the dress rehearsal for Le Mans, and the teams treat it that way. You get to see the full grid of Hypercars and LMDh prototypes pushing hard through Eau Rouge and Blanchimont in race conditions, just weeks before they head to the Sarthe. The atmosphere in the paddock has that focused, pre-Le Mans intensity where teams are still fine-tuning setups and strategies. For endurance racing fans, this is arguably the most informative race of the entire WEC season.

Spa Classic | 22-24 May

Later in May, the same circuit transforms for Spa Classic, and the contrast is wonderful. Where the WEC weekend is all about cutting-edge technology, Spa Classic fills the grid with historic machinery from every era of motorsport. Group C prototypes, classic touring cars, and pre-war racers all take to the full 7km layout. The sound alone is worth the trip. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a 1970s sports car navigate the same corners that modern prototypes were attacking just weeks earlier.

24 Hours of Spa | 24-28 June

This is the big one. The Spa 24 Hours is the crown jewel of GT3 racing worldwide, attracting a grid of 60-plus cars from every major manufacturer and some of the best driver lineups in sportscar racing. The race runs through a full day-night cycle in the Ardennes, and the weather alone can rewrite the entire result. Factory teams from Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Lamborghini all bring their strongest efforts. If you only attend one GT race all year, make it this one. The atmosphere through the night, with fans camping in the forest and the cars screaming past under floodlights, is unlike anything else on the calendar.

Belgian Grand Prix (F1) | 17-19 July

Spa-Francorchamps and Formula 1 belong together. Eau Rouge and Raidillon remain the most photographed sequence of corners in the sport, and watching a modern F1 car commit to that uphill compression at full throttle is something that never gets old. The Belgian Grand Prix has survived various threats to its calendar spot over the years, and the fans who fill the hillsides around the circuit are among the most knowledgeable in the paddock. The Ardennes weather adds a layer of unpredictability that often produces genuinely memorable races.

ELMS 4 Hours of Spa | 23 August

The European Le Mans Series brings another flavor of endurance racing back to Spa in late August. The grids here tend to feature a healthy mix of professional teams and gentlemen drivers, which creates entertaining on-track battles and a paddock that’s noticeably more accessible than the WEC weekend. It’s a great way to catch competitive prototype and GT racing in a more relaxed setting, and the late-summer timing means conditions are usually pleasant for spectating.

Zoute Grand Prix | 8-11 October

Moving from the Ardennes to the Belgian coast, the Zoute Grand Prix in Knokke-Heist is one of Europe’s most prestigious concours events. Held across a long weekend in October, it combines a concours d’elegance with a rally through the Flemish countryside and an auction that regularly features significant cars. The setting is beautiful, the curation is impeccable, and the whole event has a refined atmosphere that sets it apart from the typical car show circuit. If you appreciate automotive history and design as much as performance, Zoute deserves a place on your calendar.

InterClassics Brussels | 20-22 November

The year closes out with InterClassics Brussels, a classic car fair that brings together dealers, collectors, and enthusiasts for a weekend of buying, selling, and admiring vintage automobiles. It’s a more intimate affair than the January motor show, with a focus on classic and collectible cars rather than new production models. A solid way to round out the season and perhaps find your next project car before winter properly sets in.
